At the recent European Investment Casting Conference in Paris 17th – 20th April 25, 2016, Mr James Newsome (Managing Director of CIC) announced that Phase 4 of the investment plan has been authorized by the CIC Board of Directors.
This further investment will allow CIC to ensure that the capacity and lead times previously met prior to the increase in capacity can be achieved.
The Phase 4, £600K investment, making nearly £1.9 million in the last 16 months, includes 2 further injection machines (#9 and #10), a kiln (#6), an additional large capacity mixer (#3) and a CMM (#6). These pieces of equipment have already been ordered and should be installed between July and October this year.
Along with Phase 3 which is on track to be installed by July 2016 this further investment should increase our current capacity by around 30%-40% depending on product mix.
We can also now report that we have been able to recruit staff for a weekend shift which started in mid-April, this will increase our capacity by around 10% in the short term until equipment is delivered and commissioned.
